Distance Learning Expectations

WHERE TO FIND CLASS MATERIAL:
A new Google Classroom will be created for each level of shared classes (e.g. Algebra 2 Distance Learning) with one teacher in charge of delivering material. This material will be posted by 3 pm on Friday for the following week. The Distance Learning Goggle Classroom will be the hub for the class, where students can communicate with teachers and email questions back and forth.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS:
Students will watch the videos, presentations, and then complete assigned homework on their own time during the course of the week. It will be required to be submitted by 3 pm on Friday for grading.

During the assigned 30 minute blocks, students will log into the Google Classroom of their  regular teacher to:
a.    Answer the question for attendance.
b.    Ask questions about the homework or concept.
c.    Work with the teacher and classmates on problems.

The schedule for the 30 minute blocks is available here:

ASSESSMENTS:
Every Monday from 1 pm to 2 pm, ALL students enrolled in a math class will be expected to log on to Albert.io, click on the assessment, and complete the exam. If it is a quiz, it will only cover the previous week’s material. In the case of the unit test, the material will cover two or three weeks. We know this goes into the scheduled enrichment time by a half hour, but it still allows for Monday enrichment with other teachers.

OFFICE HOURS:
Individual teachers may schedule office hours outside of class (other than the 1:30-2:30 requirement). Any extra online office hours are at the teachers discretion, and are optional.

AP CLASSES:
Due to the expectations of AP classes, they will need to meet more often than the designated 30 minute period each day. The AP teachers will individually meet with their classes to set up class times, mock exams, etc.
